Telangana State Information Technology and Panchayat Raj Minister K Taraka Rama Rao was invited by the Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School, USA, to participate in a conference on the theme ‘India in Transition– Opportunities and Challenges.’

Hyderabad: Telangana State Information Technology and Panchayat Raj Minister K Taraka Rama Rao was invited by the Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School, USA, to participate in a conference on the theme ‘India in Transition– Opportunities and Challenges.’ The conference which was being organised by the graduate students of Harvard University would be held on February 6 and 7, 2016.

  • The IT Minister will be talking about T-Hub, India’s largest technology incubator

The Minister is expected to share the experience of shaping policies and working with the corporates to discuss issues regarding scaling internet access, net neutrality, open data etc. and eventually making digital infrastructure a utility for everyone. The Minister would also talk about T-Hub, India’s largest technology incubator to discuss how governments could accelerate innovation in the present digital age. During the visit to Boston, USA, KT Rama Rao would also participate in networking sessions at Harvard University to identify business synergies with senior executives of various Indian firms.

The India Conference at Harvard which would be attended by close to 1,000 attendees would focus on the role of technology played in the evolution of India, how India can leverage technology in the years forward and the key challenges that we need to overcome. While, the Harvard Kennedy School panel would focus on the Digital India Campaign launched in 2015, the Harvard Business School panel would focus on opportunities for incumbent businesses and early stage start-ups in the age of digital innovation and transformation.

ICICI Bank CEO Chanda Kochhar, Apollo Hospitals MD Preetha Reddy, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, Hindalco CEO Satish Pai, Intel India President Kumud Srinivasan, Cricket Semiconductors founder Lou Hutter, and YES Bank President & country Head Rajat Mehta among others would be participating in the two-day conference.
