​Mancherial (Adilabad): The Mancherial police have succeeded in cracking a looting case, where about half-a-kilogram was stolen, within three days of the incident. Police arrested three persons and seized gold worth around Rs 13.12 lakh from them.

According to details, Chintala Sadaiah, an employee of a gold jewellery shop in Warangal, went to Mancherial to hand over the gold to a gold merchant at the behest of his employer.

He lodged a complaint with the police that some unknown miscreants looted his bag containing gold. After investigation, the police found that Sadaiah hatched a plan to loot the gold along with his friends – Harish and Srinivas also of Warangal region.

As per the plan, Harish and Srinivas threw chilli powder in Sadaiah’s face and escaped with the gold bag. Mancherial Assistant Superintendent of Police SM Vijay Kumar said that they had arrested the accused during a vehicle check at Sunnambatti Street.
