Finance Minister Eatala gives a call to protect ecology and environment from fuel pollution
Hyderabad: Telangana Finance Minister Eatala Rajender on Monday stressed the need for saving fuel for future generations. He was participating at a programme of bi-weekly celebrations of “Save Fuel” at Ravindra Bharathi along with Union Labour and Employment Minister Bandaru Dattatreya.

Speaking on the occasion, the Finance Minister said the present day scenario was completely relying on fuel-run vehicles. “Gone are the days of using bicycles, bullock carts, horses and other means of transport and forest wood, charcoal for cooking. If we go on using the fuel such as petrol and diesel meaninglessly, the posterity will suffer a lot, besides incurring heavy loss to our economic structure”, Rajender pointed out.

Spending lakhs of crores of foreign exchange for fuel consumption, India was importing 80 per cent of fuel to cater to the growing demands as it produces paltry 20 per cent of fuels domestically, he said. “We need to protect environment and ecology from fuel pollution as alarming bells being heard of global warming reached danger level”, he said.

Rajender also sought for creating awareness among rural people to save fuel and preserve it for future generations. Dattatreya felt that there is a lot of use of fossil fuels which has become unavoidable for transportation of people and goods. To give a push to development trajectory, “we are compelled to use fuel run vehicles, however we must refrain from wasting the precious fuel”, he suggested.
