Students demand Bandaru Dattatreya's resignation

Telangana Jagruthi activists and students of the University of Hyderabad on Tuesday staged protests outside Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya's residence in Secunderabad. Holding the minister responsible for the suicidal act of Dalit student Rohit, the protesters were seen shouting slogans against Dattatreya demanding him to resign from his post.

According to the reports, Bandaru Dattatreya is said to have written to Union Minister for Human Resources Development Smriti Irani in support of ABVP students, thus, pressurising the Vice Chancellor of the University to suspend five students of Ambedkar Students Union.

However, the Union Minister clarified that he has nothing to do with the suspension of the students.
