Nalgonda: The Deputy Floor Leader of Congress and Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that he would take up the issue of sanctioning of a medical college and a super speciality hospital to the district with the State government. He inaugurated several developmental works in 14th municipal ward in the town on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Venkat Reddy said that the victims of road accidents were losing their lives even before shifting them to Hyderabad for better medical treatment due to lack of a super-specialty hospital in the district. Reminding the people that road accidents were taking place frequently on National Highway 65, he said that the first few hours after the accident were crucial in saving lives and the victims should get immediate medical attention.

He assured the gathering that he would bring pressure on the State government to sanction medical college and super-specialty hospital. The area where the medical college would be set up also develops automatically, he added. Top priority will be given to the development of Nalgonda town.

Reacting to the local people’s complaint about the foul smell emanating from open drainage in the colony, the Nalgonda MLA assured them of closing the open drainages with a cement cap. Nalgonda Municipal Chairperson Boddupalli Lakshmi, municipal councillors K Kavitha and A Nagaratnam Raju and others were also present.
