Congress has failed to perform in GWMC elections as it had done in 2005 Warangal Municipal Corporation elections where it won 25 seats to claim the Mayor seat. Nonetheless, the party leaders here are happy over winning four divisions and thus proving their existence braving the TRS wave that wrapped up the election allowing the party to win 44 seats. 

Warangal: Congress has failed to perform in GWMC elections as it had done in 2005 Warangal Municipal Corporation elections where it won 25 seats to claim the Mayor seat. Nonetheless, the party leaders here are happy over winning four divisions and thus proving their existence braving the TRS wave that wrapped up the election allowing the party to win 44 seats.

“We thank all the voters who have elected our party candidates,” said district Congress president N Rajender Reddy. The party leaders have felicitated those who won in the election at a programme at Congress Bhavan in Hanamkonda on Wednesday. Senior Congress leader and Warangal District Cooperative Bank Chairman Janga Raghava Reddy however felt that the party would have won more divisions provided the party leadership had taken the election a bit seriously.
