After five deaths were reported on Monday, the death toll due to the heat wave in Telangana has reached to 178. While no deaths were reported from Hyderabad, Nalgonda accounted the maximum number of deaths - 53 with Mahabubnagar following next - 33 and Medak - 30. 17 deaths were recorded in Adilabad, 15 in Karimnagar, 10 each in Ranga Reddy and Khammam, nine in Nizamabad and one in Warangal.

Two children succumbed to the heat wave conditions in Adilabad district on Sunday. The two kids who were walking with their mother from one village to other collapsed and died while the mother was found in a critical condition, who later was shifted to the hospital.

Despite rains or thundershowers in few areas of the state, the heat wave continued with Ramagundam recording the maximum temperature 46.4 degrees Celsius in the state. Nalgonda, Khammam, and Bhadrachalam witnessed a temperature above 44. Though the weather turned cloudy on Monday evening, Hyderabad recorded maximum temperature of 42 degrees.
