Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who have been on amicable terms lately have gone back to deriding each other.

Speaking on the issue of irrigation projects in the Telugu states, Chandrababu had opposed the move by Telangana government's construction of various projects on Krishna and Godavari rivers violating the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act and further stated that he is prepared to take up the matter with the court as the matter cannot be resolved with unilateral decision.

On the other hand, KCR is insistent on going ahead with the proposed irrigation projects and said that the state will be using its rightful share of 1300 tmcft water in Krishna and Godavari rivers. KCR further pointed out that TRS had fought for a separate state for water, jobs and funds.

However, Chandrababu didn't seem to agree with KCR as he stated that both the Telugu states should be taking up new irrigation projects based on the decision of an apex body. The AP Chief Minister even informed that the state government has already forwarded the resolution against TS irrigation projects to the Centre.
