Congress leaders in the State mourned the death of Telangana Armed Struggle protagonist Chennamaneni Rajeshwara Rao at a condolence meeting here on Monday.

Hyderabad: Congress leaders in the State mourned the death of Telangana Armed Struggle protagonist Chennamaneni Rajeshwara Rao at a condolence meeting here on Monday.

Expressing shock over the death of Rajeshwara Rao, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader K Jana Reddy said Rajeshwara Rao was in the forefront in the fight against erstwhile Hyderabad Nizam’s autocratic rule.

He said Chennamaneni waged a war in a democratic manner for socialism and fought untiringly for the problems of farm labourers. Recalling the contributions of the deceased leader, the CLP leader said Rajeshwara Rao was elected as an MLA in 1957 for the first time and served Assembly for six terms.

"He inspired fellow legislators in finding solutions to public problems." Jana Reddy extended his deep condolences to the family members of Rajeshwara Rao. Stating that Rajeshwara Rao was a rare personality and an idealistic leader, TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy expressed his deep condolences to the family.
