With the Election Commission of India announcing the schedule of Rajya Sabha election, a lot of names are doing the rounds for the Rajya Sabha seats in both the Telugu states - Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

In Andhra Pradesh, TDP is expecting to bag three seats out of 4 while the fourth reportedly is learnt to belong to YSRCP. The list of names circulating in the political circles includes Somireddy, Erashu Prathap, TG Venkatesh, Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad, Hemalatha, Chaitanya Raju and few others.

Meanwhile, in Telangana, D Srinivas, and Damodar Rao are the names that are being considered. Latest reports suggest that Telangana Government’s special advisor D Srinivas has been finalized as TRS party’s candidate for Rajya Sabha. It is learnt that DS has been selected amid tough competition.

Nizamabad MP K Kavitha is said to have been instrumental in the party nomination. TRS party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao reportedly gave his nod for the proposal of DS as he can project the party's point of view effectively in Rajya Sabha. The Rajya Sabha elections Notification will be announced on May 24.
