As the fuel tanker owners calling a strike from Sunday midnight, petrol bunks in Hyderabad witnessed people rush in huge numbers on Monday. Nearly 3,000 tanker owners halted the transport of fuel to bunks all over Telangana demanding the withdrawal of VAT on their services.

While talks have been held between the government officials and the Telangana Petrol Tankers Association, the assurance to withdraw VAT was not given that led to the strike to commence. Civil supplies officials urged the consumers not to panic about the strike as the petrol and diesel stocks at bunks can last for two days by then the issue could be resolved.

Apart from petrol, diesel and other fuel transport tankers, even LPG cylinder transport trucks are also not operating.
