Warangal: Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) founder Manda Krishna Madiga has called upon Dalits in the State to boycott Telangana Formation Day celebrations on June 2. Speaking to the media in Hanamkonda town here on Tuesday, he urged the Dalits to organise agitations on Thursday across the State protesting alleged anti-Dalit attitude of CM K Chandrashekar Rao whom he accused of going back on his promise of making Dalit leader the first chief minister of Telangana.

In connection with the issue, Krishna Madiga hit at Dy.CM K Srihari for his reported remarks that there were no capable leaders in Dalits and he favoured Chandrashekar Rao as the CM as he only could lead the state. ‘”Being a Dalit, he insulted and backstabbed the community by his words that there is no competent leader in SCs.

He should feel ashamed of himself for making such a statement” the MRPS leader added. Recalling the episode of sacking former Deputy Chief Minister T Rajaiah, he said Rajaiah was removed without any valid reason and this was a dishonor for the entire Dalit community. The Chief Minister was trying to dilute reservations in the political institutions and fruits of separate Telangana were being enjoyed only by the Chief Minister’s family, he lamented.

It was sad that not a single woman was given place in the State cabinet, he added. The MRPS leader said that the Chief Minister was reviewing only the progress of Mission Kakatiya and Mission Bhagiratha while neglecting the implementation of the three-acre scheme to poor Dalits.

Both the schemes were hugely funded to benefit contractors who pass on the kickbacks to the Chief Minister’s family, he added. Lashing out at the Chief Minister, he said that Chandrashekar Rao’s family should celebrate the State formation day and there was no need for the Dalits in the State to do so.

The Dalit community should abstain from celebrations and stage continuous protests against the TRS misrule and the discrimination against the Dalits.
