The Minorities Welfare Department would be organising special prayers at three of the historic churches of Secunderabad, besides Mecca Masjid and Gurudwara Saheb, Ameerpet.

Hyderabad: The Minorities Welfare Department would be organising special prayers at three of the historic churches of Secunderabad, besides Mecca Masjid and Gurudwara Saheb, Ameerpet. Besides Church of South India (CSI) church, which was announced earlier, the Centenary Baptist Church and St Mary’s Church are the other two historic churches where the special prayers would be offered for rains, welfare of Telangana and for the long life of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

The Telangana State Christian Minorities Finance Corporation would also organise blood donation camp at YMCA, Secunderabad. Early during the day, MLA Elvis Stephenson would distribute fruits amongst senior citizens in the Little Sisters of the Poor (Home for the Aged), Bhoiguda. Later in the evening, well known music directors Anup Rubens, P D J Kumar and other artists would enthral the audience in Ravindra Bharathi, apart from cultural performances by Sikh artists.

This is the first time that the Minorities Welfare Department decided to offer special prayers at places of worship. In Mecca Masjid and three historic churches in Secunderabad the special prayers would be organised at 10 am and in Gurudwara Saheb at 9 am. Besides YMCA, the blood donation camps would also be organised at Mecca Masjid and Gurudwara Saheb. As part of Jashn-e-Telangana (Telangana Formation Day celebrations) on June 2, the Minorities Welfare Department would be organising Sham-e-Ghazal programme by Talat Azeez at Indoor Stadium, Fathemaidan from 7 pm.
