Hyderabad: Entire Telangana State has been illuminated with enticing lights and decorated with other material of glare as the people are all set to celebrate its Formation Day on Thursday. The State government has made elaborate arrangements for the great event.

After paying tributes to the Martyr’s Memorial at Gun Park near Telangana Assembly in Hyderabad, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will unfurl the biggest Tricolor at about 303 ft height at Sanjeevaiah Park to surpass the record of 293 ft at Ranchi. The officials have prepared for the grand gala wherein the national flag on being hoisted is set to hit a new record in the youngest State of Telangana.

Chandrasekhar Rao will also unfurl the national flag at the Parade Grounds to mark the State Formation Day and then address the gathering after a guard of honour by forces. He will also offer prizes to 62 eminent personalities from 29 fields on the occasion.

To mark the occasion, the officials decorated government offices, bus stations, railway stations, monuments, historical structures and others. In the State capital, cynosures of all eyes on the occasion will be Assembly, Secretariat, Tank Bund, Necklace Road, NTR Marg and main junctions and roads of prominence.

The Governor, who will attend the celebrations at Parade Grounds in the morning, will also attend a similar programme at HICC in the afternoon. The police and security officials put their forces on extra alert and cordoned off the twin cities with adequate number of staff for smooth conduct of the event.
