Senior MLA and Congress leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has been issued with a show-cause notice by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) for making inappropriate comments against state president Uttam Kumar Reddy.
The Congress leader who was away from the party activities for some time now, criticized the party leadership on Saturday saying that the president was appearing more incapable than Ponnala Lakshmaiah, who caused huge damage to the party and demanded the resignation of Uttam Kumar Reddy.
Komatireddy who met Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao earlier that day addressed a press conference where he even blamed Uttam Kumar for the defeat of his brother Rajagopal Reddy in the general elections adding that the party president was serving only a section of the cadres and ignoring people's issues.
TPCC Disciplinary Committee chairman M Kodanda Reddy sent the notice wherein he was given one week time to give his explanation on the unwarranted comments against the party chief. Meanwhile, speculations have been rife that Komatireddy is preparing ground for his entry into the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), however, the Congress leader brushed aside queries on this at the press conference.
