Telangana lawyers took to boycott all the courts in Hyderabad on Monday demanding the Andhra judges to go back. While the boycott has been confined to smaller courts now, it is likely to be extended to High Court by next week. The lawyers fear the appointment of lawyers of Andhra origin as judges in the eight vacanies in the High Court and also in the 140 vacancies of judges in the Telangana district courts.

Pointing out that the united AP was already divided into two states, the lawyers said that there was a need for the Andhras to have their own separate High Court and fill the vacancies in the Hyderabad High Court with judges from Telangana only.

The Telangana lawyers held a joint meeting of the Bar Association of the High Court, State Advocates JAC, Telangana Judges Association, Telangana State Judicial Employees Association and Telangana Law Officers Association at the Hyderabad City Civil Court on Sunday where they decided to launch a `Chalo Hyderabad' on June 13.
