Suryapet: For the first time, the Bharatiya Janata Party took a tough stance against the TRS government. Addressing the meeting organised at Suraypet as part of Vikas Parv, the BJP national president criticised the TRS government and said that it was family centric. He said there can be no development in the state where there was a family rule.

He gave a call for “KCR mukt Telangana” by 2019. Stating that the there was no truth in the remarks of TRS government that not much of help was being extended by the Centre, Amit Shah said that the Union Government had so far given more than Rs 90,000 crore in the last two years.

He said he had all the details with him and if anyone asks for it he was prepared to give the details. He said that the BJP wants to see Telangana as the most developed state of the country. “The Centre is giving more money in form of various schemes but the money is not reaching people down here,'' he said.

The BJP president also talked about Majlis stating that BJP alone can answer the Majlis party. ''Can K Chandrashekar Rao answer the communal mentality of Owaisi. BJP only can answer them on a land which ousted Razakars,'' he said. He urged the people to support BJP. ''I came here to make an appeal. If you want to see the new-born Telangana as the most developed state, support BJP. Strong Telangana and strong BJP is the only alternative for speedy growth,'' he added.

Shah said Congress president Sonia Gandhi had asked what BJP had done in two years. He said his reply was that the BJP gave a prime minister who can speak. ''Earlier, there was a PM whose voice was heard only by Soniaji and Rahulbaba,'' he quipped. He said that the BJP gave a corruption-free government during the last two years.

Taking exception to the comments of Congress leader Kamalnath that Narendra Modi was travelling more, Shah said Modi travelled less than the 'Mauni baba' Manmohan Singh and added that there was no noise then. At times Manmohan Singh used to read the speech pertaining to Thailand in Malaysia.

Asking people whether there was 24-hour power, road network and hospitals in the state, Shah said, ''Go and see in BJP ruled states. We have done all these works and that is the reason why people are electing BJP government.'' Amit Shah claimed that India was now the fastest growing economy pushing China behind with a growth rate of 7.9 per cent. He said the country also has been able to build big foreign reserves under the leadership of Narendra Modi.

He called upon the rank and file to work hard to emerge as the alternative for TRS by 2019. Senior BJP leaders like P Muralidhar Rao, general secretary, state-in-charge K Krishna Das, Union Minister Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, TBJP president K Laxman, BJP floor leader G Kishen Reddy, Krishnasagar Rao, Nagam Janardhan Reddy and others participated in the meeting.
