TS, AP procure allocated Rabi pulses
The procurement of Rabi pulses has reached to 64,000 metric tonnes as on June 13. With earlier procurement of 51,000 metric tonnes during Kharif seasion, total domestic procurement of pulses by government agencies has gone up to 115,000 metric tonnes.
Hyderabad: The procurement of Rabi pulses has reached to 64,000 metric tonnes as on June 13. With earlier procurement of 51,000 metric tonnes during Kharif seasion, total domestic procurement of pulses by government agencies has gone up to 115,000 metric tonnes.
The government has also ordered further import of 12,500 metric tonnes of pulses to build buffer stock. The pulses include 10,000 metric tonnes of Masur and 2,500 metric tonnes of Urad. So far 14,321 metric tonnes pulses had already been imported by the government agencies against the total contracted quantity of 38,500 metric tonnes.
This was informed in an inter-Ministerial review meeting chaired by Department of Consumer Affairs Secretary Hem Pande on Tuesday. The meeting reviewed the prices of essential commodities and discussed measures to ensure availability these commodities at reasonable prices.
