Kodada Nalgonda: Telangana State Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday accused K Chandrashekar Rao government of going back on its electoral promises and blamed it for spending Rs 250 crore on publicity alone.

Participating as chief guest at the party workers’ meeting here, the Congress committee president said KCR mooted the idea of double bedroom houses for the poor, but failed to clear bills of INDIRAAMA houses beneficiaries so far.

The much-touted 12 per cent quota for poor Muslims did not take off yet, he said adding that drought would have been driven out of Telangana had the money that was spent on publicity was used for drought mitigation.

Accusing the government of shelving farmers’ interests, he pointed out, referring to the government welfare schemes implemented during the last two years, that not a single beneficiary could be spotted even by observing through a microscope.

Turning tables on party leaders who crossed over to the ruling the TRS, he described the party leaders crossing over to the TRS upon getting elected to the TRS was akin to practicing prostitution and nothing short of it.
