Leading Telugu poet and Telangana song writer Guda Anjaiah died at his residence in Hayathnagar mandal after prolonged illness. He was born in Dandepalli village of Lingapur mandal of Adilabad district in 1955.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and other political party leaders on Tuesday expressed condolence over his death and recalled his services to the Telangana movement. Chandrashekar Rao expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families of Anjaiah.
Congress leaders Uttam Kumar Reddy and CLP leader K Jana Reddy termed his demise as a big loss to the State. The PCC chief expressed sympathies with the family members of the deceased. He asked the State government to support the family by all available means. Jana Reddy felt that his death was a huge loss to the society. During the Telangana struggle, his songs filled enthusiasm amongst activists, he recalled.
BJP State president K Laxman said it was a great loss to Telangana and to deprived sections of the society. TRS Nizamabad MP K Kavitha said Anjaiah had written songs right from the times of emergency to Telangana agitation. “His songs were an inspiration to everyone,” she said.
“Pudithokkati Sathe Rendu…Rajanna O Rajanna…Ethura Telangana Jenda Rajiga Vori Rajiga…, Osmania Campuslo Udayinchina Kiranama…., Ayyoniva…Nuvvu Ammoniva…”were the songs united the Telangana protagonists during the Telangana movement.
His famous song “Oooru Manadira….Vaada Manadira…Palle Manadira Prathi Paniki Manamra…Suthi Manadi Kathi Manadi, Palugu Manadi Para Manadi, Bandi Manadira..Bandedlu Manavira…Naduma Dora Endiro…Aadi Peekudendiro” song was translated in 16 languages.
Earlier, he wrote famous songs like…”Ooridisi Neboduna… Ayyo Uripettukuni Satthuna… and Badram Koduko…Koduko Komuranna Jara Pailam Koduko.
His novel ‘Polimera’ described the dark days of 1975 Emergency. He also wrote ‘Girijana Mahila Meluko’ drama, which got tremendous response from the people. He released ‘Voice of Telangnaa, ‘Telangana Burra Katha’ CDs during Telangana movement. He received Suddhala Hanumanthu-Janakamma Memorial’s Suddhala Foundation National Award, Sahithya Ratna, Dakitha Kalaratna, Dalitha Sevaratna etc.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Ministers T Harish Rao, Etala Rajender, TS JAC Chairman Prof. Kodandaram, Co-convenor Pittala Ravinder, Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana and several others have expressed their deep condolences to the family members of demised Anajaiah.
