TDP ups ante against hikes
Telangana unit of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Thursday threatened agitation as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government went ahead with its hike in power tariff and RTC fares.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, State TDP chief L Ramana questioned the government about the need to increase power tariff as well as RTC bus charges when the State has surplus funds and is a rich State. Demanding that the government withdraw any move to hike charges, Ramana said the KCR government was now trying to put burden on the people.
If power tariff and RTC fares were increased, his party would launch an agitation, he said. Ramana alleged that K Chandrashekar Rao, who came to power by promising water, funds and employment, was now busy in providing water and funds to his farmhouse and jobs to the TRS workers. He accused Chandrashekar Rao of creating new problems instead of resolving the existing ones.
