Telangana Congress leaders on Saturday staged a protest against the sudden hike in power tariff at the Electricity Board headquarters in Khairatabad. The sit-in protest at Vidyut Sauda led to the traffic being disrupted for a long time.
The Congressmen who staged the sit-in include former Central Minister Sarvey Satyanarayana, former MLAs Sudheer Reddy, Srisailam Goud and others. While the Congressmen raised slogans against the hike in power tariff and RTC bus charges stating that it was against the interests of the common man, the TPCC organised demonstrations in all the district headquarters.
However, the police rushed to the spot and arrested the Congress leaders.
