Hyderabad: In order to provide better services to the people, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) launched three new departments-Development Permissions Management System (DPMS), Land Pooling, and Enforcement-on Saturday.

Addressing the media after the inauguration of DPMS department, HMDA Commissioner T Chiranjeevulu said that they have deployed 83 staff members who would work to complete the herculean task of inspecting and issuing 1.64 lakh of Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) and Building Regularisation Scheme (BRS) certificates in the next nine months.

On the same lines, a separate department for ‘Land Pooling’ has been planned which will start functioning in the next few days. The Commissioner said that the authority was planning to take up Land Pooling programmes massively during this financial year.

Chiranjeevulu further said that they have revamped the existing small enforcement wing and made it into a special department giving enforcement powers.

“The enforcement department will take care of HMDA lands, encroachments on lake beds, and address the public complaints related to HMDA land issues,” he said.
