​Warangal: CPI district secretary T Srinivas Rao has demanded the State government to withdraw the police cases booked against the party leaders for demanding land rights to the farmers, who were cultivating the forest lands.

He said the party state secretary Ch Venkat Reddy and others have taken part in tilling of forest lands as part an agitation at Kesamudram in Warangal district. The forest officials booked cases against the party state and district secretaries along with Telangana Rythu Sangham state president T Vishveshwara Rao and a leader B Vijaya Saradhi.

The leaders demanded the government giving of land rights to tribal farmers of Lal thanda and Ramu thanda at Kesamudram under forest rights act 2005. In support of their demand, protests were planned across the district on June 27, the leaders informed.
