Koida in Khammam district records 18 cm rainfall
Koida in Khammam district recorded 18 cm of rainfall in the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Monday, even as rain occurred at a few places in Telangana, thanks to the persisting low pressure area over the west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal off south Odisha, north coastal Andhra Pradesh coast and the associated upper air cyclonic circulation.
Hyderabad: Koida in Khammam district recorded 18 cm of rainfall in the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Monday, even as rain occurred at a few places in Telangana, thanks to the persisting low pressure area over the west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal off south Odisha, north coastal Andhra Pradesh coast and the associated upper air cyclonic circulation.
The Met department said on Monday that the trough from south Tamil Nadu across the coastal districts is also persisting. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) in other parts of the State was: Ibrahimpatnam, Boath, Perur 7 cm each, Sathupalle, Nirmal 6 cm each, Metpalle and Balkonda 4 cm each, Sirpur, Velpur, Bheemgal, Sriramsagar, Adilabad, Aswapuram, Mallial, Mortad, Jagtial, Nandipet, Dummugudem, Kammarpalle and Jakranpalle 3 cm each.
There was 2 cm rain each in Kunavaram, Aswaraopeta, Manuguru, Mudhole, Pegadapalle, Bhadrachalam, Khanapur, Venkatapuram, Armoor and Pinapaka. The Met department on Monday warned of heavy to very heavy rain in all Telangana districts on Tuesday.
The forecast said light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely at many places in the State from June 28 to July 1. No major change is expected during the subsequent three days in the weather forecast. Nalgonda recorded the day’s highest temperature of 36 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours.
