Warangal: Senior professor in physics and in-charge registrar of Kakatiya University (KU) Khaja Althaf Hussain has been appointed as the vice-chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University in Nalgonda.
The State government has issued orders in this connection on Thursday. The professor hails from Atmakur in Warangal district. He won gold medal in post graduation in physics from Kakatiya University.
59-year-old Prof Hussain has joined the KU as ad hoc lecturer in February, 1982 and took charge as the in-charge registrar of KU on 31 July, 2015.
Prof Altaf Hussain is the third person from the KU to get important appointment after Prof T Papi Reddy and Prof A Sadanandam.
