With political leaders protesting against the Telangana government\'s decision to reorganise and increase the number of districts in the state, things took a violent turn on Friday with people at Janagama in Warangal district indulging in stone pelting and damaging vehicles in support of their demand for a new district.Â

Telangana Congress MLA DK Aruna, Alampur MLA Sampathkumar along with her supporters staged a raasta roko at Erravalli National Highway in Palamur district demanding Gadwal to be announced as a new district.
The massive crowd shouting slogans at the road blockage protest affected the traffic for kilometres at a stretch in between Hyderabad and Bangalore.
Soon, the police intervened and tension ensued in the area. While the police lathis and dispersed the crowds, the two leaders, DK Aruna and Sampathkumar were arrested.
