Free coaching for competitive exams, medical services, computer training classes, library etc are a few among the several services provided by Mallu Venkatanarasimha Reddy Vignana Kendram, a Trust in Nalgonda. The Trust is indeed a boon to poor students, senior citizens and others in the district.

Telangana armed struggler and wife of CPI (M) leader late Mallu Venkata Narasimha Reddy, Mallu Swarajyam has founded the Trust in 2011. She constructed a spacious multi-storied building in about 15,000 sq. feet area near bus stand in Nalgonda. Since then the Trust has been providing platforms to various types of people, providing free services or at nominal prices.
The Trust provides free medical services including diagnostic services to poor patients. The Trust organises free health camps in villages and mandals across the district. It also conducts free medical check up on the third Sunday of every month to BP, diabetic, epilepsy and paralysis patients and provides medicines for one month at Rs 100 only.
It is also providing medicines to common people at nominal prices through their generic medical shops. Students and housewives can get training in basic computer courses at a nominal fee of Rs 200. Free coaching classes will be conducted for the entrance test for admission into various universities, government jobs.
As many as 6,500 students have completed their computer training at a computer centre run by the Trust. Most of them were working in private organisations while a few others started their own DTP centers under self-employment.
After getting free coaching by retired economics lecturer Meenaiah at the Trust, several students have created records in MA (Economics) entrance test of Osmania and Kakatiya Universities. Since 2011, the students trained by the Trust were getting top ranks in economics entrance tests. In MA (Economics)-2016 entrance test, conducted by Kakatiya University, a student of the Trust bagged first rank.
In 2013 the Trust provided 40 days free coaching to 400 aspirants for VRO and VAO posts and 18 got jobs. The Trust has provided free coaching to Group-2 candidates and imparted expertise training to 1,300 candidates in five batches since 2014. A free coaching for 45 days was provided to about 300 aspirants of SI and constable jobs and 80 per cent of the aspirants got through the preliminary exams.
Keeping in view the interest of students, unemployed and employed youth, housewives, the Trust is maintaining a big library with all competitive books and of general interest also. Alarmed by the increasing violence against women, the Trust is imparting karate training to girls to protect themselves in case of any attack.
MVN Trust founder-president Mallu Swarajyam said it is in fact the government’s duty to take care of public in all aspects. ‘But as a responsible person of the society and member of Telangana armed struggle, I am doing my part of duty by providing services to the neglected sections of the society. The Trust is formed in the name of my husband, late Mallu Venkata Narasimha Reddy, who was a great comrade and sacrificed his life for the welfare of society,’ she added.
