The GWMC has allocated Rs 8.13 crore for the expansion of the road from the collector bungalow to KUC to hundred feet to divert vehicular traffic coming from Kazipet-Hanamkonda road to Karimnagar road while Hanamkonda bus station to Nakkalagutta road was allotted Rs 1.82 crore.
Ambedkar Chowrasta-Waddepally Church road was sanctioned Rs 4.13 crore. The objective of developing the distributor roads was to ease the traffic stress on main roads, Warangal (West) MLA D Vinay Bhasker told The Hans India. The development works of the three roads would soon be taken up, he added.
Of these roads, Hanamkonda bus station to Nakkalagutta road has developed huge potholes and riding on this road has become a troublesome experience for the commuters. There would be no hurdles to launch development works related to these roads as there was no need of land acquisition.
According to GMWC officials, the State government has allotted Rs 31 crore for the development of six roads in Hanamkonda. But clearance was given to three roads so far. Work agreements with contractors were already made.
The officials have also prepared proposals for the development of three other roads in Hanamkonda, but they were set aside due to technical reasons related to tender process.
GWMC mayor N Narender informed that they have launched a survey for the construction of two other roads in Hanamkonda with the special budgetary provision of Rs 300 crore made by the State government to the corporation.
