Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, he said that the proposed plan to develop the 370-kilometre stretch of Bhadrachalam-Kaleshwaram-Kouthala highway was a boon for both the Telugu-speaking States- Telangana and Andhra Pradesh-as it manifests the future of trading links with other parts of the country.

Vemulawada (Karimnagar): Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao has invoked the blessings of Vemulawada Rajanna to support the development of Telangana State.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is working through a vision and mission to take the State in the direction of development,” the Minister said, referring to the initiatives and investments of the TRS government.

By initiating projects such as Mission Kakatiya and Mission Bhagiratha, and tackling power problem efficiently, the youngest State in the country has become the cynosure of all eyes, Tummala said, accusing the Opposition parties of meddling with the development of the State.

“Mere criticism is no solution,” Tummala said, advising the Opposition to play constructive role in the Assembly rather than resorting to mudslinging on the government.

He said that no project was constructed without attracting displacement of farmers. The TRS chief planned better than the erstwhile Congress governments in conceiving the irrigation projects mitigating the extent of displacement. All the oustees under projects would get a fair compensation, he said.

The parties would not succeed even if some leaders try tooth and nail to stop the irrigation projects in the State, the Minister said.

Finance Minister Eatela Rajender criticised the Opposition parties for not realising the ongoing development in the State. He said that due to the TRS government’s efforts, construction of about 2,000 kilometres of highways was taking place. He said that it never happened before.

MP B Vinod Kumar and local MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh were also present. Earlier, Tummala laid the foundation stone for the development works of Mulavagu.
