A tale of two PHCs

Hyderabad: The Primary Health Center constructed at a cost of Rs 1 crore in Rachunuru village of Maheshwaram mandal of Ranga Reddy district is rendered useless as the state government failed to appoint doctors to run the health center.

According to reports, as a result, there was wild growth of weeds in the compound. Had the primary health center became operational, residents of Begampet, Turkaguda, Timmapur and other surrounding thandas would have been able to get medical service in their vicinity .

The residents of surrounding villages allege that the building faced neglect with wild growth of plants on account of the deep slumber of our political leaders. Officials allege that the PHC was built during the previous Congress regime without any foresight.

Villagers Guyyani Somayya, Sadu Mahender Reddy, Dantuji Gyaneshwar and Sudula Somayya said that improving medical and health services in rural areas is still a dream in spite of lofty ideals set by the TRS government.

The villagers demand that the state government appointed medical officers to the primary health center to provide hospital facility to the poor and needy immediately.
