Hyderabad: Advisor to Government of Telangana K V Ramanachary on Wednesday exhorted one and all to take part in the State government’s prestigious greenery programme, Haritha Haram.

Speaking to the media after unveiling the Haritha Haram poster and CD at his office in Secretariat, the Advisor said that support from people was necessary to create good natural surroundings. The environment would provide a pleasant atmosphere only when there are trees all around us. He exhorted one and all to plant saplings to keep the harmful emissions at bay.

He said the government has been implementing the tree plantation programme with a missionary zeal from July 8.
In addition to planting saplings in government offices and taking up avenue plantations, he appealed to the people to plant saplings in open places near their homes.

He said the government has kept ready 30 crore saplings across the State. He urged the NGOs, private companies, service organisations, environmentalists and students to come forward.

He lauded Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for implementing such a good programme and noted that the State as well as the country would become wealthy with the implementation of the programme. Indian Journalists’ union New Delhi unit office bearer K Satyanarayana and environmentalist Saganti Somayya and others spoke.
