The family members of Ramya who lost the battle for life after being on ventilator support for nine days on Saturday held the doctors at NIMS equally responsible for her death.

Ramya's family met minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav at Care hospital on Sunday where they poured in their grief over the demise of the 10-year-old-girl. The family stated that Ramya was not attended at NIMS for over four hours and the doctors said they were observing the condition of the patient, without doing any treatment. Ramesh, one of the uncles of Ramya said that the doctors had suggested them to take her to Yashoda hospital if they want better treatment.

The family rued that Ramya would have survived if the doctors had taken timely action at NIMS as the girl was conscious for two hours after the accident but received no proper medical aid following which she slipped into unconscious and her chances of survival diminished.

Srinivas Yadav expressed his deep condolences to the family and assured action against the drunk drivers. The Minister informed that a case under section 304(2)(B) has been registered against the accused for not only the accident but also on criminal negligence for not holding a driver's license. He also assured to order an inquiry into the negligent behavior of doctors at NIMS.
