CCTVs to be installed in private hostels.
Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu has told the managaments of private hostels in tri-cities of Warangal-Hanamkonda-Kazipet to strictly adhere to the guidelines stipulated by the Police Commissionerate.

He held a meeting here on Sunday with the managements of the hostels that were offering accommodation to students and employees and issued directions towards safety of inmates and for running the hostels in proper manner.
The Commissioner wanted the managements to obtain details of all the inmates forthwith. Installation of closed circuit television cameras (CCTVs) at reception, kitchen and dining halls has to be taken up. Each hostel should have at least four to six good quality CCTVs depending on the size of the hostel.
The meeting was convened in the wake of reports that some persons taking shelter in private hostels after committing crimes in Hyderabad. Hence, the managements in Warangal should ensure that their hostels should not turn up hiding places for criminals, posing as students or employees.
The managements have to initiate measures to ensure safety of innocent persons staying at the hostels. They should verify the background of the persons seeking admission into hostel.
Details as such Aadhaar card, the college in which they are studying and place of employment should be collected, the Commissioner said.
ID card should be issued to the persons admitted into the hostels and the details of inmates and how many were issued ID cards should be intimated to local police stations. Similarly, the details of visitors should be entered in gate register.
The managements should not involve the students in any task related to hostel maintenance and their activities should be closely monitored. Police sub-inspector rank official would monitor patrolling operations at the hostels and She Teams would conduct patrolling at girls’ hostels, he added.
