The Inter-State Council meeting began on Saturday at Rashtrapati Bhavan and is being attended by almost all 29 Chief Ministers in the country  including Telugu states Chief Ministers - N Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrasekhar Rao apart from Central Ministers and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

The Inter-State Council meeting has begun on Saturday at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi and is being attended by almost all 29 Chief Ministers in the country including Telugu states Chief Ministers - N Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrasekhar Rao apart from Central Ministers and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The council will be holding discussions on internal security, the widespread use of Aadhaar Card, direct taxes reforms and others. The Centre is likely to approve the Goods and Services Taxes Bill which would benefit the states in avoiding the double taxation.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa will not be among the attendees as she is reportedly ill.
