Telangana Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao on Friday inaugurated the Outer Ring Road (ORR) between Ghatkesar and Shamirpet. The 21.3-km stretch of ORR is built at a cost of Rs 623 crore and is open to public from Friday. 

Telangana Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao on Friday inaugurated the Outer Ring Road (ORR) between Ghatkesar and Shamirpet. The 21.3-km stretch of ORR is built at a cost of Rs 623 crore and is open to public from Friday.

The newly inaugurated stretch will be beneficial for the commuters travelling to Karimnagar, Warangal and Vijayawada apart from reducing the traffic issues at LB Nagar, Uppal, and Secunderabad. The public can also utilize the interchanges at Shamirpet, Keesara, and Ghatkesar.

The stretch was completed by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and funded with the support of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Currently, the works are in progress to complete the rest of 1.1 KM stretch at Medchal with the HMDA completing 156.9 Km out of the total 158Km works on ORR.
