Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya on Saturday addressed a press conference in Hyderabad wherein he announced that Centre has sanctioned Rs 165 crore to Mission Kakathiya for restoration and renovation of irrigation tanks under the scheme. The funds were sanctioned under the National Project for Repair, Renovation & Restoration (RRR) of Water Bodies.

The Minister informed that Niti Ayog recommended allotment of Rs 19,205 crore for the ongoing Mission Bhagiratha scheme to the Union Finance Ministry.

Dattatreya also spoke about the Child Labor Act being passed in Rajya Sabha and said the new Act gave a new meaning to adolescents i.e. 14 to 18 years and prohibit them from working in hazardous industries.

The Union Minister asserted that in the case of violation of the norms, the punishment would be severe. He even stated that Workmen Compensation Act and Maternity Benefit Act would be passed in Parliament.
