Nalgonda: A college principal lost his cool and thrashed leaders of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) when they asked to extend his cooperation to the educational institutes’ bandh, called by the organisation on Tuesday.

According to sources, as a part of State-wide educational institutes bandh, leaders of ABVP went to Priyadarshini College in Huzurnagar and requested the college principal P Srinivas Reddy to cooperate with them. When he turned down their request, the activists directly approached students and requested them to boycott the classes.

Angered over this, the principal allegedly abused them and ordered them to leave the college immediately. The student leaders argued with the principal and informed him that they were conducting bandh for the welfare of the students only.

Losing his cool, the principal thrashed student leaders Karunakar, Prashanth, Nagendra Babu and Gopi and pushed them out of the college. Angered student leaders’ staged a dharna in front of the college and shouted slogans against the principal. Except this incident, the bandh in the district went off peacefully.
