CS moots action plan to guard saplings of Haritha Haram

​Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma on Tuesday instructed all departments to prepare an action plan to safeguard the saplings planted under the Haritha Haram.

He held a review on the progress of the programme attended by secretaries of various departments at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
The CS asked the officials to make arrangements for the regular supply of water to the plants by utilising the fire tenders of the Fire Services department and water tankers from Rural Development and Municipal Administration departments.

The official directed the Collectors take up brush wood fencing around the saplings immediately apart from conducting surprise visits .
The Chief Secretary said a special plantation programme would be taken up in barren lands and assigned lands in the villages. Fruits bearing saplings would be planted in these areas.
