Hyderabad: Bringing cheers to the faces of jobless youth aspiring for government jobs, the Telangana State government on Tuesday enhanced the upper age limit for government job aspirants to 44 years from the present 43 years. Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma issued orders to this effect on Tuesday.

The ad hoc rule issued by the general administration department is as follows: “In the said ad hoc rule, for the expressions ‘for a period of one year’ shall be substituted with the expression ‘for a period of two years’.

Based on the requests from many organisations, the government raised upper age limit by 10 years last year for the ensuing direct recruitment in various categories of posts by respective departments and Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC).

However, the upper age relaxation rule would not be applicable for the posts of uniformed services like police, excise, fire, prisons and forest departments, for which physical standards have been prescribed.
