Nizamabad: Moved by the plight of increasing number of shelter-less orphans and beggars in the district headquarters town, Naveen Chanti has set up Food Bank to protect them from hunger. The Non-Governmental Organisation with a total membership of 120, provides food to the orphans, beggars and the aged destitute found at the railway station, bus stand and other public places. Besides showing compassion towards them, it also takes care of their clothing and other bare necessities.

On finding an old man lying abandoned in the bus stand area for quite a long time, the NGO took care of him. After providing him food and clothing, the compassionate youngsters got the old man admitted to the government hospital on Wednesday as he was ill. The service activities of Food Bank are being hailed by people from different walks of life. Speaking to The Hans India, Naveen said ``Our motto is - service to mankind is service to god. We will expand our service activities in the district headquarters town if we get proper support and encouragement from the government.’’
