Talking to The Hans India, member of Mahankali temple in Bolarum G P Govind Raj said, “This temple is 100 years old and is very popular after Sri Ujjaini Mahankali temple in Secunderabad. Devotees come from different parts of the city and the temple is well-known as Chota Secunderabad Mahankali temple.”

Raj informed that the day would start with Abhishekam which would be performed early in the morning and over 3,000 devotees were likely to take part in it. He further added that the police and Cantonment Board had assured of full support in maintaining law and order during the time of procession.

A committee member of Nalla Pochamma temple in Bolarum, Prithvi Raj, said the preparations for the festival had already begun and on Sunday, the puja would start from 6 am and would go on till 9 pm. Meanwhile, the Hyderabad police have made massive security arrangements across the city.

About 8,000 police personnel, 500 pickets, 10 Rapid Action Force (RAF) and around 50 SHE teams would be deployed as part of bandobust on the festival day. Around 5,000 CCTV cameras were being installed at various places, said the Additional Commissioner (crimes and SIT) Swati Lakra.
