Sangareddy: The Lokayukta has issued notices to the state government seeking explanation for the delay in construction of ZPHS for boys in Jogipet. It wanted the government to give a time frame within which the structure would be ready for children to move into it.

It may be mentioned here that The Hans India had published news report “This ZPHS needs urgent attention” on July 15. Though the foundation stone was laid in 2007 the building works were not completed till date.

Taking the complaint suo motu (complaint no- 2488/2016), K Narasimha Reddy, Director (investigation), Lokayukta, has sent notices to the District Collector, Zilla Parishad CEO and District Education Officer, asking them to file a report before September 1, explaining the cause for the delay and the time frame within which the building could be completed for the use for the purpose for which it was planned.

“Lokayukta found it utter negligence and inaction on part of the concerned public servants in completing the ZPHS,” the letter stated. District Education Officer, Medak, has sent a letter to the Executive Engineer, Panchayat Raj, Andole at Jogipet, to submit a reply by July 30, 2016.

The letter was hand delivered by the DEO staff. However, by the end of Saturday, no communication was received from the Panchayat Raj EE. C Suresh Babu, Zilla Parishad CEO, Medak, has also sent a letter to the Panchayath Raj EE, asking for the same. The matter has been posted for September 1 at Lokayukta.
