‘Telangana is one among the seven states in the country the party identified to grow politically and where efforts are on to strengthen the cadre base at grassroots level,’ he told press persons here on Sunday. He was here to attend the party booth-level workers meet.

The PM’s visit on August 7 is politically important one and after the visit efforts to boost the party strength at booth-level would be taken up with utmost seriousness. It is planned to attract the youth in more numbers into the party.

BJP is focusing on gaining power in 2019 in Telangana State. As part of which, the party president Amit Shah had visited the State twice and will participate in Telangana Liberation Day celebrations here on September 17, Muralidhar Rao said.

The TRS has been acting undemocratically from State assembly to gram panchayat level and eliminating the Opposition parties. In view of which, the BJP has decided to don the role of constructive opposition to tackle autocratic practices of the ruling party here, he noted.

The party appeals all likeminded individuals and parties to join BJP to protect democracy, he said. Though there are serious political differences between the TRS and BJP, the BJP-led NDA is making committed efforts for Telangana development as it believes in cooperative federalism.

The Centre has sanctioned Rs 45,000 crore funds to develop infrastructure in Telangana. Yet the TRS government is not using the funds in a proper manner, Muralidhar Rao complained.

Referring to the cancellation of appointment of Vice-Chancellors to various universities by High Court and its observations against the State government reflects Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s autocratic attitude. The government should have waited till the matter cleared by the court.

Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari should own the responsibility for Eamcet-2 question paper leak. The failure of the Education Minister in conducting the exam has become a liability on the State government and affected thousands of students, the BJP leader said.
