​Warangal: The first graduation day of SR Engineering College was celebrated in a grand manner at its campus here on Sunday.

A total of 428 students, who passed out B Tech, M Tech and MBA from the College, were awarded with convocation certificates at the ceremony during which, Haritha Haram programme was also held.

Addressing the gathering, JNTU Director (Evaluation) B Anjaneya Prasad said ‘You must not overlook contribution of your parents in your growth. Wherever you go in pursue of higher studies or employment you should not forget your roots and make efforts to uphold Indian culture, traditions and values’

He also asked the students to focus on improving communication skills besides excelling in academics. In these days expressing ones’ abilities and personality in an effective manner has become a must to outshine the competition.

EPAM India Resource Development Head, Emmanuel Gosula said students have to go beyond curriculum to face future challenges as every sector was witnessing speedy change.

In India, every year a total 5.5 million students pass out of engineering colleges every year, but only 11 to 12 percent were employable. The students should try to develop abilities like emotional intelligence.

The management seeks persons with multi-skills and one must have to think ahead with focus on next five or ten years to fit in the industry and excel in the career, he added.

Wardhannapet MLA Aruri Ramesh wished the young graduates best in their careers and asked them to contribute to the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao’s dream of creating a ‘Golden Telangana’.

SR Educational Society Chairman A Varada Reddy said their focus was to impart students with best of the skills and academic standards. Numerous MNCs and Indian companies of big reputation visited the College for campus recruitments.

The College Principal V Mahesh presented a report on the achievements of the College and the students, while a CSE student Gamini, who secured job after completing internship at IBM and a project in Google, attributed her success to the College.

The College Directors and Deans GV Guru Rao, G V Praveen, Mustaq Ahmed, heads of the departments P Venkat Reddy, AVV Sudhakar, M Sampath, R Vijay Prakash, D Srinivas and others were present.
