​Suryapet (Nalgonda): The Suryapet police have busted a adulterated diesel racket and arrested eight persons and seized 15,000 litres adulterated diesel, 6,000 litres blue kerosene and four tankers.

DSP Sunitha Mohan briefed the media at a press meet here on Sunday. According to her, the police led by the DSP raided the house of one Sumathi at Balaji Nagar on July 24 night, during which the details of the adulterated diesel came out.

The members of this racket managed to escape and the police have seized 8,000 litres adulterated diesel, 4,000 litres of blue kerosene and chemicals used to make duplicate diesel.

On July 28, the police arrested Santosh and Shaik Raheem, the assistants of kingpin of the racket B Devadattu and remanded them.

The police took Sravan, chemical supplier Sadhineni Venkateswarlu and his assistant Ashok Kumar into custody on Saturday and during enquiry the accuses revealed that they, along with B Devadattu and Santosh Kumar were preparing adulterated diesel by mixing chemicals in kerosene on the outskirts of Narketpally.

Based on their information, the police immediately arrested Santosh Kumar, his driver David Raju, Gouri Sankar of Hyderabad, his driver Azeem and Devadattu driver Satish.

They seized two tankers of Satish, 7,000 litres of adulterated diesel, 2,000 litres of kerosene, two current motors, two plastic gum bottles, five powder bags, two tankers each of Devadattu and Gowri Sankar.

The police send the arrested for remand. The DSP said Devadattu, the kingpin of the racket was absconding.
