​Hyderabad: Metpally in Karimnagar district recorded very heavy rainfall of 22 cm during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Monday. Heavy rain occurred in Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Adilabad and Ranga Reddy districts, as the southwest monsoon has been active over Telangana.

The forecast warned that there will be heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places in all districts of Telangana on August 2 and 3. It said the low pressure area over the north-east Bay of Bengal & adjoining north-west & east-central Bay now lies over north Bay and neighbourhood.

The associated upper air cyclonic circulation now extends up to 7.6 km above the mean sea level. The system is likely to become well marked low pressure area during next 48 hours. The trough on sea level chart now runs from Odisha to south Tamil Nadu across coastal Andhra Pradesh is
persisting.

These factors will yield light to moderate rain/thundershowers at many places in Telangana from August 2 to 5. No major change during the subsequent three days is the weather outlook.
