​Karimnagar: The Revenue officials should speedily redress the grievances pertaining to the land of poor people and small farmers, said Deputy Chief Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali.

Speaking at a review meeting at the Collectorate here on Tuesday, Mahmood Ali who also holds the Revenue portfolio, said 12 lakh applications were received from people in the State for free registration of `Sada Bainama’ land. As many as 277 land surveyors would be appointed in the State soon, he said.

Mahmood Ali said that Revenue officials should identify government, Bhoodan and Wakf lands in villages and get them fenced to prevent encroachment. Plantation of saplings in government lands would be taken up in a big way to realise the target of ‘Telanganaku Haritha Haram’, he said.

Funds would be allocated to the Revenue Department for the construction of office buildings and steps would also be taken to strengthen the revenue administration, the Deputy Chief Minister said.

Finance Minister Eatela Rajender who also attended the meeting, said Revenue staff should focus on providing better services to the rural people by discharging their duties with dedication.

Reviewing the implementation of medical and health services in the district, the Minister directed the officials to focus on providing better medical care to the people living in remote villages and tribal hamlets.

Steps should also be taken to prevent the outbreak of diseases in villages during the rainy season. Awareness should be created among rural people to enable them to better utilise the medical and health services, he added.
