Hyderabad: With a PIL on the cancellation of EAMCET-2 pending before the High Court, Telangana State government on Monday deferred announcement of the schedule for the conduct of EAMCET-3 examination.

Sources said that depending on the outcome of the court’s directions, the government was likely to finalise the dates for the examination. They, however, did not rule out the announcement of the schedule on Tuesday.

Tentatively, the government is planning to conduct the exam by August end and complete the counselling in the first week of September. As per the guidelines of the Medical Council of India,

the State government is supposed to complete the entire process of conducting examinations, admission process and start classes by September 30 every year.

Sources said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao reviewed the progress in the investigation into the paper leak scam and also enquired about the foolproof measures needed to be taken for conducting the exams with the officials in the evening.
