The state government is in a fix after the Hyderabad High court striked down GO 123 for acquiring lands for various projects particularly the Mallannasagar reservoir.

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao did state that the government would appeal against the verdict for a full bench hearing. However, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao called a meeting with all the Ministers and officials on Thursday to discuss the issue and arrive at a decision.
With the farmers and opposition parties opposing the GO 123 as against the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act of 2013, that offers the farmers reasonable compensation, the state government is facing a big issue with Land acquisition as several irrigation projects are in the pipeline and lands needs to be acquired for all the projects.
